Poughkeepsie Flyover
Poughkeepsie, New York is nestled in the Hudson River Valley, upstate and unkempt. IBM used to be the main gig in town, but corporate profits decreed moving much of those operations to cheaper pastures. One cool thing about the town is the fact that the old Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge that spans the mighty Hudson river has been turned into a pedestrian bridge and state park: The Walkway Over the Hudson. This immense span is about two miles long and features great views of the Hudson River, as well as Poughkeepsie itself. I walked it today, so here are some iPhone views of this hardy little city.
