Enjoying the Moment in Real Time
Tim Tebow’s latest miracle legitimately pulled me out of my seat on Sunday evening. What powerful drama! After Tebowing in the endzone, Tim did a victory lap, and celebrated with the fans. The Associated Ppess photo above really struck me, but not because of Tebow. The guy getting a high five from the sports hero is enjoying the moment on the LCD screen of his device! Wow! Technology really is changing us in some bizarre ways. I guess it’s better for the fan to record the event instead of actually experiencing it as a human being?
As a photographer, I can imagine myself doing something similar. But, then again I might also just put the camera down for a moment to acknowledge the guy reaching his hand out to me. I’m not sure.
Do you think I’m overreacting?
