I once fell for a girl named Maxine
to her friends she’d always be Max
but, my love notes to her went unseen
she perished of postal anthrax!
Soon after, I courted sweet Lucy
boy, I fell for her – and how.
she liked her burgers so juicy
her last bite was tainted, mad cow!
Rebounding, I dallied with Nicolette
true love was finally in the stars
we eloped and flew off to Phuket
where she expired, a victim of SARS
I found comfort in the arms of Abigail
the girl with the loud cockatoo
louder, though, would I wail
when she left this world dead from bird flu
I wonder, these days, if it’s just bad luck
as I head off to dinner with Pam
famished, I’ll order the roast duck
and for the lady, how ‘bout a nice ham?
(Revised version of an old poem I wrote in ’05)

I came across this as one of the hot Delicious links of the day.
Open Kosmaczewski – Saving a Failing Project.
For some reason, I like to read about project management. I feel that as a a product manager, it enhances my relationships with the project managers, developers, and I really do like the science of it. This particular blog seemed like a very inspiring and real-world account of using hardcore management basics to get a software project out the door. I was intrigued and wanted to know how this could help me!
Then, near the end I came to this part:
I did not take any technical decisions about the project; I gave full authority on this matter to the lead developer, who in turn appreciated this trust and took spontaneously the decision of documenting and unit testing the system thoroughly doing extra hours every day.
Oh, I get it now. Satire! These crazy internet jokes. Spontaneus unit testing and documentation! “LOL” You almost had me there!

I’m not normally one for wacko conspiracy theories, but this one is eerie. This can not be natural! We as a nation must ask ourselves what the hell is going on?!?!
Update: The original source of this video was “dbootsthediva” on Youtube. She has dozens of other videos depicting perceived evidence of shady military-industrial experiments — including many of “chemtrails” (What are chemtrails, you ask?) and microwave radiation making her house glow and/or buzz. Apparently, she deleted this rainbow video. (Someone else saved it and reuploaded it.) Was it because she was embarrassed by it? In any event, she’s a fascinating character. Her Youtube page astutely notes:
For example,
price of soda is outrageous. Shredded
cheese has gone from 8 ozs to 6 ozs
n now they r going for 5 ozs.SOMEBODY IN OUR GOVERNMENT SHOULD
OF LOOKED INTO IT, BROUGHT IT UP
Bonus: She’s also on Flickr. More videos after the jump.

Must see: Here’s life in one panel: takethetightrope
A brilliant comic.
From the site “VIRUS COMIX encompasses the work of author Winston Rowntree (not his real name), who enjoys making comics of all kinds for anyone who wants to read them. “
